mojo 18 watt marshall build

Post by ampmike »

Hey Guys this was my first build at the Chicago school Specimen. It was a very cool place to learn all kinds of amp and guitar bilding.Owner was awesome,Food was killer after all we were in Chicago!Anyway Im getting mental atrophy from this long winter in Pa.Sometimes I dont leave the house for days.I decided Im going to fix any bad amps here with problems. This amp i was wandering if anybody has the chassis layout and could post it on here so I could get some help doing some mods to this guy.Master vol and mabey some pull boost pots ect.Its the 18 watt Mojo marshall style build.
Mojo does not allow that info out on the site.In the mean time I know I have a copy somewhere but posting it on this thread would be helpful. As always Thanks Guys,Mikey

Mikey I have the Mojotone 18w schematic and layout but they are too large for me to scan so you should email Mojotone and ask for a digital copy.

Those are mojotone board photos above which follow the layout I have. Make sure to use shielded wires from vibrato foot switch to V3 pin 7.

Mike wants to add a master. Have any of you installed a PPIMV in an 18?

There is the answer Mikey. Dual 1MA and a pair of 1M resistors.

I have never worked out on an el84 amp. They all work heh

Look at your other amp. The grid feeds are replaced by the pot with the 1M resistors instead of the 2M2 resistors over the dual pot like in the bigger amp. Same thing there, then the wires from the pot attach to the resistors at the tube grids.

This will make sense when you see everything from the bottom of what used to be the X pattern the resistors in between the output couples make on your other amp with a PPIMV.

:)

It is easy to be confused because it's scary to blow shit up, but you won't. Just have to account for each connection.

Fact is that once the power supply is done and an amp is functioning only the craziest of total oops can blow the amp up. You have to really try to do it at that point. heh
