sro in thiel cab
Has anyone put an SRO in a thiel style cabinet? Is that speaker to smooth for that style cab. Also how much louder is the thiel cab built from EV plans than the Boogie Thiel?

Re: sro in thiel cab
All these years, I was under the impression Boogie used the EV plans. I bought two of the 1x12 MB Thiel cabs when they first came out (I wish I still had them), and I am pretty sure the salesman at Lab Sound told me MB used the EV blueprints. Of course, that could have changed over the years as this was in the early / mid 80's IIRC.

Re: sro in thiel cab
I tried putting an SRO coffee can speaker in a Boogafunk TL806 cabinet. It does NOT fit. The SRO's mounting centers are on about 3/8" smaller diameter than the holes in the Boogafunk, which are of course for modern speakers, which do fit properly.
So if you're talking about the alnico coffee can SRO, be careful!!!

Thanks Jazz and David I will keep what you said in mind. Right now i am leaning toward building my own open back cab for it. I have it in a two 12 open cab now and it is mellow compaired to my evm 12L.

Yes! I sure have. Not a Boogie, but yeppers. Might have been Tasco or Claire built cabs. Been a long time since I rocked that roll.
