PPIMV question

Post by stephenl »

I'm using a dual-gang 250kL pot as a PPIMV. They are in parallel with the power tube grid resistors to ground.

I notice that when I roll the pot back from full volume, that there is a slight loss in treble/sparkle. Its not huge and it doesn't get worse from there on. Can this be fixed by adding some "bright" caps across each pot?

um...that dual pot is supposed to take the place of those resistors...is this a LarMar you speak of?
Don't overthink it. Just drink it.

I'm using it as a drive compensation control in conjunction with a LP Power Scale control. Not that that really makes a difference, but KOC's instructions show to put it in parallel.

Other schemo's I've seen, have it in place of the grid leaks as you said.
