Hi Todd,

Where are you located? US? South America, Europe, Asia, or Oz?

If in North America, try Electronics Warehouse in Riverside, California that has a separate surplus store might be one resource. Another resource is Apexjr.com, http://www.apexjr.com/miscellaneous.html#Resistors

Be sure to either call or email. I have yet to find a Electronics or Surplus website that has more than a small fraction of their inventory online.

There are too many to list.

Best regards,

Steve

www.tubedepot.com
www.tubesandmore.com
www.mojotone.com

The specialized sites make it easier to find the type of parts we need for amp building/modding.
Amplifiers built:
Marshall 2204 head with some mods
Low-power 2204 (cathode biased 6V6s)
Single-knob dual-6K6GT amps using a Wattkins uPCB
AC30 clone with Plexified preamp section
AX84 Firefly

Can you give us more information?

What will you use these resistors for and what are they going in?

Like in a power supply to drop voltage or what?

What voltage will they be subjected to?

7 watts is a bit of an oddball value, maybe look at 10 watt resistors.

Depending on your needs a wirewound resistor may work.
Be sure to check the voltage rating.

This one is good up to 670v.

takes less than 10 seconds to build a result list for all 6-8watt 11-13ohm wirewounds:

Mouser is pretty easy.
Just check the options that apply to YOU.
THAT will narrow it down from 43,873 to 27. :)

Look there a number of things involved for me. a life long brain injury makes things that seem easy to you may not be for others. we are not all the same. I cant fill out paper work when i go to the doctor OK. thats what some website are, make my head spin. i dont know why it just is. so i'm goin to leave it at that. I'll find a way if i have to make them myself.

Hey Todd,

Digikey is in MN. They may be a solution, sadly their website may not be any better...

I was not addressing any of those issues.
A Lot of people (myself included) are overwhelmed by Mouser the first time they use it.
Many people (myself again) are not aware of the "drop-down" menus for each category. I could tell from your post that you were looking for a resistor, and being presented with Thousands of possibilities. It seems daunting at first.
I was just commenting that a few checked boxes/filters in the drop down can go a LONG way.
Just for example...
If you were to check "12" in the Ohms box and "7" in the power box...
you would be knocking off Thousands of resistors that do not apply to your needs.
The first few resistors listed will be what you are looking for. Then you can just ignore Back Orders, Obsolete, and all that other non-applicable stuff.
Many times Mouser is more about Ignoring what you do not want, more than it is looking for what you Do want. :)

Structo, that particular resister is in the heater power line in my scott 299 d hifi wasn't getting any power through it. snipped it out measured off the charts . so i plugged a knight resister box with a 15 ohm 3 w and bingo heaters working for the preamp. power tubes use a different circuit.

so it sat and no hurry going to try get through mouser again.

Might prove easier to find a 10w or bigger resistor in the value you want as 7w seems a much less available size. No harm in a higher wattage resistor long as you can still fit it in the available space.
