Got this today in addition to the Merlin 2nd edition. A nice book as well. Not hardbound, it is soft cover but about the same size. About 50% thicker too, so more info overall.
Since we've been talking books lately and some have mentioned they wanted to see a power amp section, this book has 100 pages on power amp design SE and PP. There's also 100 pages on Distortion and Noise.
Haven't read it yet, just thumbed through, but looks comprehensive and easy to read. Looking forward to it. Was a xmas gift to myself.

Well so far this book seems to be more geared to the hifi design world. I should add the author is quite "colorful" in his writing style referring to amps built from junk parts and after getting drunk on a couple bottles of champagne they sound great...lol. this guy actually cracks me up, keeps it interesting at least!
he seems to also really rip apart those in the SE crowd, (for hifi) inferring the technology is practically useless in some statements (my interpretation). Fun stuff...but a lot of interesting info that is not in the Merlin book either so it is a nice technical read as well - long way for me to go still, too.
