Airbrake build question

I've got the parts that I need for the Airbrake build but I didnt buy the rheostat for the bedroom level option - I own a Dr. Z Airbrake and I never use the bedroom level so I figured I'd save money by not buying the rheostat and make a cleaner build by eliminating it - but now I'm having trouble figuring out what to do with the selector switch.

I won't need the 4 levels of attenuation plus a 5th position for the bedroom...I believe this Lorlin is adjustable and I can make it a 4 position switch instead of a 5...can someone tell me how to do that? Pics would be helpful since I'm a noob...also, if I change the switch from a 4 to a 5 position will it change the wiring?

Hey Photios,

After I thought about it, I think you would be ok to wire the selector switch as indicated on the build info; just by-pass the rheostat and capacitor going straight to the adjustable resistor. When you select either the bedroom position or the one preceeding it on the selector switch, they will just do the same thing and your amp will be safe. The downside is you will have two positions on the selector switch that are redundant. However, that will be an easier solution than messing with the settings on the selector switch and the wiring.

I was wondering too if I could even put another lug on the adjustable resistor...it would give me another level of attenuation -though I doubt terribly useful as too much attenuation just doesnt sound good to my ear - still it wouldnt be redundant.
