I'm ordering a Tweed Bassman built out of pine, but this one is going to be a little different and I think I might end up with two rows of controls. I know the chassis dimensions of an original are 20'' L x 4 1/8'' W x 2 5/8''.
I plan on increasing the depth and have two questions.
- What are the dimensions of the cutout on an original?
- If I increase the depth will I run into clearance issues with the transformers and speakers?

Probably. I don't know the dimensions of a standard Bassman cab, but I do know that the upper two speakers do not have magnet covers so that there is sufficient clearance for the transformers.LeftyStrat wrote:If I increase the depth will I run into clearance issues with the transformers and speakers?

Thanks guys. I'm making the cab two inches deeper.

Good idea! I think they sound a little shallow myself. Ya know, I likes some bass.
