Help Finding Some Parts

Post by ChrisM »

Looking together a Mouser order and need to find a few things. Was hoping someone could help me with some part numbers.

1. http://www.guitaravenue.com/images/phot ... -jtm45.JPG
The square Marshall jewel lamp.

2. http://www.headfishop.com/images/l/2011 ... 245740.jpg
http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j6/Iv ... 25v800.jpg
Looking for some cool looking blue caps for the cathodes. Would like 50V ones. Ordered these before but can't find my notes on it.

3. http://i205.photobucket.com/albums/bb17 ... n/Pic8.jpg
Looking for good quality neat looking (mojo) power resistors like the brown one pictured above. I'm looking for 5W-7W.

4. Favorite fuse holder?

Thanks!

Hi Chris,

Can't help you with Mouser part numbers but was wondering which of Mouser's shipping options has the fewest border/fee surprises and is the most cost effective.

Don't know whether this helps but Hoffman and Watts carry square neon lights.

You can get the square 120v lamp at Radio Shack in Toronto.

I got those Mills resistors here: http://www.partsconnexion.com/resistors_mills_mra5.html

The blue caps are BC caps.

resistor: the one pictured is a Ohmite 40F series, 10W . 588 is the ohmite manf code at Mouser. Brown or green used to be common coatings, it hit or miss now.

Thanks for the suggestions so far.
Ideally I'd like to find that light at Mouser.

Anyone have suggestions for good quality power resistors?

Dave I generally use the cheapest shipping option from Mouser (USPS/Canada Post). Most of the time there is no extra fees but it is slow.

Thanks Chris!

The Mouser paper catalogue only shows a few squared up panel lights, none exactly like the one you pictured.

For fusing i usually use a Qualtek IEC socket with integrated fuse holder, makes for one less hole.

If you go with Partsconnexion for anything, they are local and orders arrive quickly, not much for shipping.

mouser has Dale and Ohmite 5-7W resistors. Just put in the higher power (tip you can select multiple wattages in the list holding the CTL key down) and use the filter....

Are you sure those are the blue caps?

Chris, those are philips/vishay caps. I believe that they are from the same factory. Both are blue. Nice sounding caps.

How about those bridge diode packages (for diodes in square package) you see in Marshall builds?

Bridge rectifier. Guessing this package.

What do you think? 1000V, 12A, 1.1V voltage drop. Is this package the equivalent of four 1N4007 diodes in diamond arrangement?
