recorded examples?

Post by Mr. dB »

Since Trainwrecks have been a sort of Holy Grail since the early 1980s, you'd think there'd be plenty of recorded examples of the Trainwreck sound. Can anyone recommend any major label recordings on which the guitarist used a Trainwreck amp? Did any "guitar heroes" ever use one for their signature sound? Maybe something I've heard on the radio?

You may have already found this info, but I'll post it just in case.

Although not exactly a major label release, this one by Glen Kuykendall has great Trainwreck tones and great playing, as well:

Glen's disc has gotten great feedback on Amp Garage and other forums. Glen also did a great comparison between a Trainwreck and a Ceriatone clone that is posted in the Trainwreck forum.

Regards,

Paul

Yeah I saw that, which was what inspired me to post. Considering they've been around for several decades, have Trainwrecks ever been used by anyone other than rich private collectors? There must be some real-world examples, no?

Supposedly the guitarist in Bryan Adams' band used one on some of his early stuff. I've read that he used a Trainwreck on the duet with Tina Turner, "It's Only Love".
