Lost another friend...
Guess this is old hat for us fuckers that have to stick around.
Here's his favorite.

Wish I could be a bit more numb right now. This was unexpected.

Not sure which sucks more. A friend dying from neglect of health, or killing himself outright.

Re: Lost another friend...
Either way sucks. One of my old/good friends did the same thing after his divorce. He just gave up, started drinking, and moved back in with his Mom so he could keep drinking. He was diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver six years ago. He didn't care from what I heard, and just kept drinking till it killed him last December.LeftyStrat wrote:Not sure which sucks more. I've also had friends take their own life cuz they couldn't deal.
Neither way is any better, you're still left with the same questions.
Sorry for your loss, LS.

Comfortably numb would be a blessing.

Yeah, this is difficult no matter how old you are or how many times. I recently lost a friend a bit younger than me who was 57. I don't think there is any getting used to it. It sets things in perspective when all that remains are memories. Sorry to hear the sad news.

Sorry Lefty.
When I was young I attended weddings and baptisms now it's only funerals.

Re: Lost another friend...
Thanks everyone for the condolences.
cbass, I know what you mean. This is my third friend I've lost to suicide over the years. The anger makes the grief all that much harder. Half the time you want to blame them and the other half of the time you want to blame yourself for not being able to recognize they needed you to do, I don't know, whatever. Maybe just give them that talk that "this too shall pass," or "it's darkest before the dawn."
