University introduction to the thermionic valve

Today, sick in bed, I stumbled across this video from the University of Nottingham that perked me up a bit.
Great to see a such a clear and historical presentation.

This is an English professor, so:
Anode = Plate
Valve = Tube

Thanks for posting!

Wish I had seen something like this when I was younger. Very lucid explanation, combined with a historical perspective.

I'll be showing this to the kids.
It's never too late to have a happy childhood.

Totally love it! That was the age. We know 95% of how tubes work; the other 5% we will never know because the folks behind the scenes of that video moved on to SS.
