Yes it basically has screw terminals. If I mount this on the outside of the case, someone could touch 285 volts. Probably not enough to get killed, but enough for an amp builder to get sued.

I've got all the parts and will start this weekend. I had originally planned on building two amps, but what I think I might do is try to find some way to build everything but the power supply and switch out between the standard power supply and the SMPS.

I got really sidetracked with my new job and then some repairs. Then my plans changed slightly. My daughter needs a lightweight combo, so I thought I would use it for that. I'm gutting the chassis of an Electar 30R, and picked up a better OT than the junk that was in it.

I'm going to have some free time this weekend, so I will see how it goes. I'll post some pics, and hopefully some sound clips.

Yeah, I sort of lost enthusiasm after I found they stopped carrying them.

I'm still curious as to how it will affect the sound. I also realized that maybe the Rocket wouldn't be a good candidate since it normally uses a tube rectifier.

Perhaps something that is normally silicon rectified might be more appropriate.

I had no reply for the 100W 6L6 quad version they told me was ready in a few weeks. I think it's a good idea for SE amps, and can be implemented quite good for PP amps up to a quad of EL84.
