SSS on eBay for 150 grand

I'm hoping that someone with a senior member's or moderator's ranking, and Max- like knowledge of the SSS series can ask the proper questions of the seller to find out if he is a fraud. For 150 grand some due diligence is certainly appropriate.. Personaly, the truth is what matters. If it's a legitimate auction, go for it, but to me something smells not quite right here. For my part, I'm going to ask the seller to post pics of the amp.

I hope that I'm wrong in thinking that something is not right about this particular auction...

I doubt this is real. $150,000 + $650 in shipping? Are they really concerned about the shipping costs? Not one pic? A potential buyer has to approach the seller and ask for a pic for a $150,000 item? I am calling bullshit, complete stupidity, or both on this one.

For 150.000$ I would expect the seller to personally deliver it anywhere in the world. This, or no deal. It's an amp, not a Faberge Egg ffs.

Well he does have a 670 score with 100% positive feedback... and a couple of PAFs for 15,000.00 USD

Have gotten a reply to the first note, seller wil provide pics for a real buyer...he is selling for another party. This amp was originally built for Collin James of Canada. The present owner is having this guy sell it for him. He does know about the SSS thang, this amp was for a friend of SRV's built for the loud clean headroom thang like his. The selller acted in his writing like he knew the owners of 8 150 watt SSS's and that they would not part with 'em, he said this was one of the last ones made when I asked about the serial number. Also asked about whether and what type the PI driver tube was. No answer on that one yet.

I think that the auction is legit, but I view it as likely as low cost global advertising to get a buyer's attention for doing the deal elsewhere after the listing closes, IMHO.
