With Snuffy's generous donation of '59 Bassman Reissue iron, I'm collecting parts for a Marshall-style 50-watt build. I'm not worried about breaking any rules, and this can be a unique build, but I'll likely start with a Marshall 1959, 1987, or 2204 schematic and a pair of EL34s.
What's your favorite 50 watt Marshall?
What's your favorite MV? Pre-PI, like the JCM 800, PPIMV, or HallVVR?

Simple master between treble and PI. My favorite is a metal panel 70-72 four holer or a jacked up 800 sporting Sylvania 6ca7s RFTs or Mullard xf4 in that order...
Jose. You need at least one Jose. It's all about cascaded goodness into the CF and floating a master right there, even without the master... that is all I am gonna say lest I have to kill you all and steal your stuff to get my outrageous sound back! lol
Follow the 1987 schematic but no gain control V1b, 390k to ground at V1a splitter. V1a is 1.9k/.68u V1b is 10k/.1u with a 10k para on a switch. Empty gain hole is master like on 800 (treb-PI)
If you just want raging vintage, both V1a/b are 820r. A bypass with 330u, B bypass with .68, and tinker with .68 over the second stage 820r (V2a)
Change CF resistor to nearer 50 than 100k, or parallel another 100k over it on a switch. I don't elevate my heater, I just use a damned good tube. It smells like a brand new AC30 all the time. lol free toaster!

Parallel 10k on a switch over the 10k cathode of the 2nd stage for boosted gain.
So many good combinations. Some people like all three stages of 820r, or 2.7k with various bypass. It's a monkey jungle. I like them all.
OooOook!
