Perfect, that meets the heavier HT requirements and no need to wait 2.5 weeks for Heyboer.

That looks very good.

For output transformer don't forget Allen Amps selections as well.

Cool, that with a marshall off the shelf 50 OT would be what to look for. I looked at some JCM 800 spec OT. I am sure that I could make a single primary OT work. I just need to figure out what exact impedeance. But I am looking in depth on how to determine that.

the TO40MT from allen has 3 9/16 mounting, which is a 16th smaller than the dlite chassis. 4000/4,8. It says performance similar to the super/bassman. but it is a 4 pound tranny. It wouldnt take more than some slight grinding of the tranny holes to fit the dlite chassis. I can only assume it is a fifty watt.

I would still consider the marshall also.

Mike
What kind of music do you like to play?
and are you still looking at doing the 4X6v thing or just 2 6L's or 2 6V's?

Let's say the Marshall 50W OT has a 3.2K input impedance with 4, 8 16 taps. You could use it as a 6.4K, with 8, 16, 32 taps.

You should be to just orient that OT so that it covers the existing holes. When I get home, I take a few of a Marshall 50W OT sitting on that chassis.

The tones I am going after for the dumble specific tone is the guitar tone of ry cooder on the crossroads movie. That tone and sonnly landreths tones on the grant street live album.

I play alot of blues, rock, hard rock and sometimes metal.

I understant the concept of using speaker load to adjust impedance matching. I do it on my twin.

If your a Rock guy the Marshall JCM OPT will be just fine (we use that one MM in our Derringer 4 6V amp)..Match away!!

BTW.. The Crossroads/Ry Cooder stuff was done on Dumbles 1 of a Kind High Voltage Pentode amp..(Feelin bad Blues) and the Sonny Landreth Dumble is an HRM model..Your amp will sound different than both of these

Yea I knew it would not be up to par with a full spec dumble. But I have listened to alot of clips of the dlite in all different tube selections, and it does have some of the tones that I am after. Plus its better than just another tweed clone.

OK mojos JCM 800 OPT has 3.7k primarys, Hammonds has 3.2k. I would prefer going with the mojo for sake of the same brand. Should I stick with the hammond instead? Or will it really matter? Both are 4,8,16. The hammond is about 25 dollar cheaper.

Here is some info on the power transformers.

http://www.classictone.net/40-18073.pdf

Call me crazy, but the Classic tone 40-18073 (Bassman PWR TX) and the Brown Note transformer seem like the same thing.

Personally, I have a soft spot for using a Twin PWR TX in a 50 watt amp. The Blonde Fender Bassman's did it, and I love them!

Ok, you are crazy then. Look at the mounting centers, they are not the same footprint.

Read the entire thread............One more time kids, the Brownnote D'Lite chassis takes the Vibrolux PT mounting centers. :D

Thanks for the compliment TM. Look at the specs.

Lets forget about the size of the transformer, our interest in the power transformer is that it supplies our amp with the desired voltage and current.

The Classic Tone transformer supplies 650vac @ 200mA. The D'Lite transformer supplies 325 - 0 -325 @ 200mA. I'm sure that is the same as saying 650vac @ 200mA.

What I saying is the size of the power transformer isn't enough reason for me to replace the D'Lite one given the specs are nearly identical. What is there to consider beyond these specs?
Yours Sincerely
