Wiring
Next question is that the layout on the Ceriatone is confusing regarding the wiring. On the PT there are 2 yellow, 1 grey, and 2 white wires on one side. On the Other there are 2 browns, 1 grey, and 1 blue. There are no designations for these wires on the board except to call the brown wire "heaters" but they don't lead anywhere on the layout. Where do these wires go and are any of them tapped off?

						Re: Wiring
Also the layout says blue and brown wires are to be connected to V4 and V5 at tab 3 but the pics from Ceriatones site show the pink and grey wires soldered to those tabs and don't show blue or brown wires at all. So what do you do there?

						Re: Wiring
If your building a Ceriatone kit with Ceriatone transformers you will need to follow Ceriatone's layout.
The PT is wound for both 5k2 and 6k6 so you can choose which one you want normally 6k6 for Express.
Brown and blue would be 5K2
Gray and pink would be 6k6

Problem is the layout is way outdated for the trannys they are using. The wire colors have changed and the pics on their site show things wired differently than the layout.M Fowler wrote:If your building a Ceriatone kit with Ceriatone transformers you will need to follow Ceriatone's layout.

Re: Wiring
Well I've been emailing back and forth with him for almost 2 hours about the PT wiring and he seems to be confused as to which wires are for what. It's the most frustrating conversation I've had with anyone in a long time. He doesn't seem to know if the red, blue or grey wire goes to the power switch. He doesn't know if one or both greys go to ground. And I still haven't gotten a straight answer about what to do with the white wires.

Re: Wiring
To difuse a movie bomb just cut the green wire.
Meter them and come back with the confusing results so we can help you determine what it is you have there. We are smart like that, and when I say we I mean everyone but me more often than not.

Re: Wiring
I converted mine to a four gain monster but perhaps you can tell from my pictures.

						Re: Wiring
So far what I've figured out on the PT is that the yellows and whites are tapped off. The grey in that bundle goes to ground. What is left is the blue, grey, and an orange-ish red. One of these goes to the power switch. The old layout shows red to the power switch, but apparently Nik is using different PT's 100v, 120v, and 240v.
He thought that the one I had didn't have the red wire, but it looks more orange-ish red than pure red. His computer is down and doesn't have access to his specs to check for me at the moment till it's back up again.
The question here is that one of these is used for the power switch and I suppose the rest are tapped off. But which one?

Re: Wiring
I think the main wiring is 0 black and 120v red.
HT 300V purple
HT 260v white
6.3v brown
brown/yellow CT

Re: Wiring
If it is truly a red it would be the right one to use for the power switch, but it looks a little lighter than other reds. It almost looks orange and Nik said if it was orange then it was 100v. I'm having to wait till tomorrow so he can check his specs for the different trannys he's using so that he can tell me which one I have.M Fowler wrote:I think the main wiring is 0 black and 120v red.

Re: Wiring
Did you get the info you need?
Throw 10-12vac from a wall wart or other supply to it where you think your 120vac should go.... then check what you need and do some math... or post your findings here. Numbers are our friends.
Nice pics Mark... as always.
... and Reeltarded, you my friend are nuts! Keep up the fine work.
