B&H enclosure with 18w amp

Post by M Fowler »

My son found the B&H cabinet with speaker in it and I decided to put my Hammond AO-35 amp in it.

I've been working on a lot of great old amps lately and that B&H cabinet has been bugging me for a while.

Now that is a cool old cabinet. Reminds of the EH150, but I like the back cover on the hinge on the B&H.

I'm going to take it over to my favorite local guitar shop and try sell it.

Maybe $450. will take it. Cheap bastards around my area.

Very cool, Mark!

But does the cabinet buzz like a box of bees?

No cabinet buzz but the speaker is trebly. :)

The amp sounds a lot better in person don't they all

Keep us informed on your AO-35 build start a thread on it.

I did parallel V1 so to keep the amp volume down I used 12AU7 preamp tube otherwise it will tear your face off. With the B&H cab you can open the back to get a different tone no rattles from the cabinet at all. To keep cost down I used the original 25w 16ohm speaker.

Thanks for the tips.
Now all I need is the time to work on it. It's sitting on the bench, staring at me going,"Sooooooo?"

I know what you mean, my buds at the local guitar shop decided to quit being a pit stop for Musician's Friend ordering. All cheap shit is going out the door. Stocking Grover Jackson guitars (GJ2), Badcat Amps, Splawn, Fowler Amps, Vintage Voltage Amps, and high end gear only. I thing they are stocking Breed Love acoustic guitars. Some of the NAMM GJ guitars were sold to EU customers. Can get better paying clients online service and more exposure.
