Post by cbass »

I just happened to catch this auction with less than aminute left.I was surprised there wasn't more bidding.

THere was 2 other auctions form the same seller.I tried to get them>I got outbid on one and my internet messed up while I was trying to bid on the other.

So are they mullards?

Mullards would have a Philips code etched in the glass, probably starting with "B" (Blackburn). Holes in the base pins, too, I think. If they're from Holland, they'll still have a Philips code. Not enough pictures to see everything.

Could be. IIRC, the Matsushita tube factory was set up by Philips. If so, they should have seams in the glass. Can't see the tops. Japanese tubes are usually pretty decent, anyway.

I knew I was taking a risk.Without knowing exactly what they were.

Oh well they should still be better than new prduction.I was really hoping they were european.

I have some Japanese 12ax7's and they are good quaility tubes.

I have some and they do sound nice and been holding up well.
Not sure what the going price is but that doesn't look like a bad deal & they appear in good condition.

You might be surprised in a good way.

Aren't these the ones made on ex-mullard tooling?

I like these tubes. They sound really good.

I have used them in place of Mullards without really caring about the differences, but this was back when I could do no wrong, nor could I say the alphabet. We were drinkin' and drivin'. It was allowed.. pretty much.
