Yes, but do I need the other jumper under the board then? It's either or, isn't it?

I think it's pretty interesting why Dumble used a 250k OD volume pot.. The 250k pot feeding the 1M master is a bit of an impedance mismatch compared to the normal 100k when talking a more efficient transfer of voltage/signal..The 250k also increases gain and lowers the -3db shelf(I don't think this would necessarily be a volume issue more than how it would effect tone). The standard 100k there will give you cleaner less grind (or should I say a finer type grind) and much more focused on the low end as well as an enhanced sustainability. So if one wants or likes more low end (flabbier) type tone with more gain saturation and more of a thick faatt rock type tone the 250k is a better choice for this.. This (and 250k drive)IMO is a big reason why some people like the 183 circuit..If one wants a smoother cleaner focused tone go 100k..One of the reasons why 102 sustains like it does!!
BTW..A scope is a wonderful tool to track down your particular problem!!

Good Luck!!

I have 2 D style amps a 183 circuit and a D'lite. The D'lite has basically been modded to a 50 watt low plate #124 circuit.
Tony,I agree with your accessment . Only thing is I find a little more sustain in the 183 OD. Maybe a wattage thing. Although if I really crank the OD level on the 50 watter, I get mucho sustain.
I like both amps, but I use the D'lite for gigging at this time .I play in a classic rock band, mostly rythm, some leads. I like the transition between clean and OD of the 124. The D'lite just seems to fit better for our style of music.
