RJ guitars has laser engraved faceplates. Metal and wood I think.

I've got a few different versions - I think the best ones are on a black anodized metal faceplate. The wood ones look really nostalgic but there are a few issues with wood that require some extra effort to overcome... nothing impossible though if you want to go that route. The letters can be cut cut with a ball end mill or they can be burned in with a laser. If you really want to go the traditional route then selloutrr has some that are actually burned in the old school way with a woodburner... very cool items. If you look at the recent posts on the non-traditional Express that Martin Manning recently put together, he purchased laser etched faceplates from BNP laser that are very similar to the ones I offer. This technique will give you a very professional looking faceplate.

Lots of ways to get there and several choices for vendors...
