Normal channel woes on a '72 super.

Post by pinkphiloyd »

I just undid a "reverb on both channels" mod. Reverb channel still works and sounds great. Out of the normal channel, I'm not getting jack. I've gone through the wiring time and again, switched tubes, looked for shorts with my meter, and I finally drug out my scope. I'm getting signal from the normal channel all the way up to the .01 cap that feeds the phase inverter. I figure since the reverb channel is fine the problem must be before there. All the voltages seem okay. Pulling my hair out. Thoughts?

Schem and layout.

Yep. Solved. Immediately after posting I broke out the only tool I hadn't (wooden kebab skewer) and found a short in about 7 seconds.

Self-facepalm.

Bah. Public embarrassment, theoretically, anyway, should help me learn my lesson!
