Tuki has made Trainwreck gig bags..much more durable than the one in this thread, padded, with shoulder and hand straps. No worry of a strap breaking on these..

Got my Gator gig bag (GP-40, $49 at Musician's Friend), and it will work out really well. Nicely padded, furry interior, utility pocket on the front outside, and a comfortable handle. It comes with a should strap too, but I removed it immediately - I hate them. :D

It is intended for drum accessories and hardware, but the 6 section insert comes out (velcro), so I can ignore their intent, and use it the way I want.
