Chassis Question
Looking at photos of trainwrecks I see in most of them a brown strip or two of something on the chassis in the open area below the preamp tubes. Any idea what this is and why it is there? Just wondering and could not find any post on it as I don't know what it is.

Re: Chassis Question
It's weatherstripping for doors and such. It's used to help dampen the chassis. If something isn't there to dampen the natural resonance of the Express style chassis then the high gain from that amp will amplify the chassis noise sometimes to the point of oscillation.
