I used George's chassis and white back plate for my JTM45, his stuff is correct.

Nice rig!
I am super snobby.. 'bout my Marshall junk, and George's stuff sits in place just fine. The guy does everything VERY right, and I cried when he closed the store. Hope it opens up again one day soon with full kits.

Yesterday I got the KT66s for this amp. I stuck one in the socket, and I took the attached photo.
The screw holes will never line up with the PT. I don't care about that. I can machine a spacer and work it out. Apart from that, though, is there any problem with putting a tube 3/32" from a PT? I can probably move the PT another eighth of an inch away.
The only really obvious thing is that if someone kicked the amp hard enough, the bulb might shatter against the PT.

I machined a block of aluminum to go over the transformer hole. I can move the PT so there's around 3/8" of clearance. I can also stand it up, if I want. The KT66 tubes are so huge, there is zero possibility that standing the transformer up will cause a space problem. The cabinet is presumably tall enough for the tubes, so it will be tall enough for a stand-up transformer.
I think I'm going to lay it on its side. It will look better, and I think it will be sturdier. But I'll have to open a big hole in that block.

I put the amp aside for a while because I was working on a Telecaster. Today I finished the spacer I made for the PT. Here it is, mounted. The tubes are nearly half an inch from the PT, but I'm worried they'll be too close to the cabinet.
Every problem can be solved if you're willing to hack a chassis up beyond recognition.
