Cool.He actually plays with some feeling.
Obviously enjoying himself.
I've got a 14 year old that can do that.I should have started training him when he was 2.Maybe I could have been on TV. :?

It was really fulfilling to see my boy pick up a guitar and start to progress. Then he started getting better than me.
Now I take pride in the fact that I can still kick his ass.For now anyway.

Perhaps you should have recognized after the first one that he's not interested...
My father was an avid chess player but I wasn't interested at all. Nevertheless he spoiled my 13th birthday by giving me a chess set. I never even tried to learn the game.

Yeah I bought both of my daughters 3/4 scale guitars when they were 8 or 9. After the newness wore off, they never touched them again.

Somehow WE grew up without smart phones, Ipods / Ipads and facebook. The new devices and social networking seem to be more important than taking the effort to learn something creative, ie guitar playing.

Hell, I remember going to high school listening to Deep Purple's Machine Head jammed into an 8 track player, we didn't have any of the tech stuff and survived. Now it seems that the kids are just "Lazy"....

End of Dad rant for now...

Haha, I find Social Networking an interesting phrase.. That used to mean go somewhere hanging out with people. Now it means hanging out with people while texting people who aren't there... (if you doubt that, watch two kids walking down the street not talking to each other, but texting third parties).. :D

I find it extremely unfair that as a guitar playing kid my parents were constantly barging into my room telling me to "turn it down!!!"
Now as a guitar playing parent my kids are constantly barging into my room to tell me to "turn it down Dad!!!".

(Although the look on their face is great when you tell them "if it's too loud, you're too old!" 8) )
<i> "I've suffered for my music. Now it's your turn."</i>

I just got online a couple of years ago.I just got a cell about 2 years ago.

People were absolutely dumbfounded when thay asked for my cell # and found out i didn't have a phone. They were like how do you live? What do you do if your truck breaks down?

I really hate people that talk about there fancy phones,What it does,How cool it looks How they only paid $300 for it.
Thats the whole damn problem with this country people are losing their houses cause they can't pay the mortgage but they'll make sure there 7 year old and 11 yearold and wife and the dog have a damn cellphone. :x
and video games and internet and netflix and on and on.

Gotta go. some kids outside look like they might step on my lawn.

Excuse me.. you bought full-sized children 3/4 scale guitars. They want doublenecks. 3/4 scale guitars are for students. You have rock stars on your hands. I have seen this too many times.

I really dislike the fancy phones for one main musical reason. My drummer can't put the fucking thing down during rehearsal. We stop to discuss chord structure or horn lines or whatever. He immediately picks up the damn phone and starts playing with it. Then we have to pry the damn thing out of his hands to get back to making music. I mean every fucking break this happens. Don't ask me what happened when one day he showed up with his Ipad  That never happened again. :D
