Not sure if this is a big deal, but my PT HV secondaries don't read the same. One side reads 279vac and the other reads 286vac. Is that anything to worry about?
Hi,
yes, the cabinet I finished this weekend.
But the PT is now a other question like before.
Not shure that this 7 Volt dif. are a problem. Never recognized such on mine. Do you have hum because of this? Your DMF is new (battery)?
Better some expereanced gives answer.

I do still have some minor hum, but I'm not sure if a 7vac difference in the PT HV sides can cause this...

Hi
do you have 2x 100ohm Rs on the heater fil.? Try a trim, something between 200 and 500 ohms. Could be a better symetrie with this. I had this twice. the trim stops every hum wich is from the heater fils.

I've got a 500 ohm trim pot in there now. It is not affecting the hum. I can hear it affecting a buzzier type hum if I turn up the volume (no guitar plugged in) though...

Hi,
excuse this question: do you have maybe a heater fil. CT and this at ground too. If yes, please choose only one fil. grounding: the CT or the 500 ohm trim.

No CT on the filiments, removed the 2x100r, left in the 500 ohm trim pot.

There are 2 CT on this PT, one for the HV (red/yel) and one for an unused 18v tap (grn/yel).

I had a similar problem. I used a NOS Thordason Transformer 540CT @ 260mA. I ended up using the vvr to limit my top voltage, it works. I am tempted to remove the upper limit on the vvr and rebias to get closer to the AC30 sound.
