Yeah? I had it cut 4 hours and 7 minutes ago. Wanna hear the rest of that story?LeftyStrat wrote:

Well in the end I decided on the longer scale of the JM as I transition to playing a 7.25 neck radius). So as of 9am this morning I'm now the proud new 1st owner of one of these.

Well it arrived today, but I noticed that the high E-string intonation was not right, and then when I went to adjust it I found that both of the height adjustment screws were missing from the high-E bridge saddle and one of the adjustments screws was missing from the B-string bridge saddle! Not what I was expecting from a new American Vintage Reissue that I paid top dollar for!
I contacted the shop I bought it from - hopefully they will send me the screws ASAP dammit.

Attention to details. Players vs everyone else.
On my bigsby teles, I drip super glue on there so no movement. They love to fall out and re-adjust themselves. I am pretty sure lock-tite works too.
Pretty machine though!

I don't agree with perminantly locking your adjustment screws. You may find you need to adjust depending on seasonal weather, the way you play, or the string guage you chose.Reeltarded wrote:Attention to details. Players vs everyone else.

Sorry to hear about the oversite. It would have cost double had the store hired a guy that knew how a guitar worked. This economy has brought out the idiots. IMHO I'd call them and get an R.A. #. Send it back and take your business to a dealer or seller who values business. Now you are stuck spending $ to have your guitar setup (which you should do anyway) the benefit of buying local is that your setup if often included in the sale price. So if you are spending top dollar expect nothing less then top service.
Just making a point.

I think it makes sense for any serious guitarist to learn how to do their own setup. It is not that hard and you can find everything you need to know with a Google search or two. Most of us already own a tuner that is good enough to perform intonation. Besides, I have only experienced one setup done by someone else in 35 years that I liked. A great setup is a very personal thing and it's actually very rewarding. Now you are stuck spending $ to have your guitar setup (which you should do anyway) the benefit of buying local is that your setup if often included in the sale price.

Nothing permanent about superglue on plated screws. -ting-

Yes I prefer to to the basic set up stuff myself (which is how-come I noticed the missing saddle-height screws straight away).vibratoking wrote:I think it makes sense for any serious guitarist to learn how to do their own setup. I agree about the ability to do a setup as long as you know what it is you are doing. It was more to prove a point. Recieving the guitar missing parts was unexceptable. A setup after shipping would most likely beworthless from the shift in temp. Though it woud confirm all parts were present.
still not a fan of glue or mods, prob because I don't own any "player" guitars.
