Dumble 124 relay question

Post by brentm »

Hi everyone!

I'm sourcing parts for a 124 build. I happened across what looks to be a very close match to the relays used in this amp. I was curious if anyone knew what the differences are between the two are??? I can't find a datasheet for them.

Pictures of the 124 show.

Taiko RKTS 12G

The ones I picked up today are

Taiko RKT 12 (picture below).

Both parts cross to the same relay in the NTE cross reference book.

Thanks for all your help! Looking forward to the build. Going to take it slow, but I'm sure I'll have plenty of questions along the way. Already picked up the electrolytics and many of the Sprague PS series caps. Can't find any NOS 6PS caps in the correct values. Looks like the ones at AES are fairly new (RoHS compliant?). But that's where I sourced 'em.

Pretty cool!

I like the clear top on those.

Thanks Structo! I think I got pretty lucky on these. The shop had two of them and I picked them both up. All the BOMs call for 3 relays, but I don't see where the third one is used. Is one a spare?

From what I can tell, they're the same as the relays in 0124. Looks like it's just missing the UL label so they just may be a little older.

You just need two. One for PAB and one for channel switching. Have fun, those look great!

Some guys like to put the Mid Boost on the foot pedal as well so that may be why there are three relays on the BOM.

Me? I have four relays!

OD, PAB, Midboost and Bright on Clean Only.

Tom, how did you squeeze the 4th one in there. Gut shot?

Sure.

I have the Midboost and PAB stacked one on top of the other and then the OD to the right and the Bright on Clean Only relay to the far right.

Yes, down is off, middle is bright on all the time and up is bright on clean only.
