Cathode Bypass Caps

Post by Frostbite Slim »

What are the preferred cap brand for the cathode bypass caps for Dumble (ODS) builds? I haven't seen any spragues, but ones that are maybe Philips BC?

I've seen quite a few builds here with what looks like Nichicon and then Sprague TVA ocassionally. I like to use the Sprague TE and 501D series as well and I have used Phillips BC too.

I have seen both Sprague TE and Nichicon in Dumbles. I would not be surprised if he used many more types. Draw your conclusions.... :D

So what are the most common values for the Clean channel. I've seen some with 4.7uf and others 10uf.

Looks clean to me. I like the elevated heater wires as well.

Sure are. The Phiers were Also graciously donated by Tonemerc. The chassis is Bills (windham) and opt is from Eric.(NOS Bassman 100) and going in a Taylor head cab.So this sort of an amp garage community build. Looking forward to firing this beast up and adding it to my Stable
