As far as Zoom goes, he's pretty wack. Every year before NAMM he carpet bombed my e-mail accounts (and everyone else on earth from the "to" and "cc" list on his e-mails) about his courses to "teach you the secrets of amp repairs, modifications, and designing, taught by world-renowned expert Billy Zoom". I asked a few people on the coast about him and they said "Billy who" ?
Roadjunkie Here's something to keep in mind. I don't know how long you have been involved with guitars and amp building. I've been involved in them since I was 15 with long long periods of lapses. I've forgotten way more then I ever learned. Billy states this was in 1985 when Alex brought these amps to him to look at. When you consider that almost everything was built off the Fender format with the exception of Vox. Mesa, Marshall and every other conceivable build was based off Fender could Billy have been looking at what he saw as a Twin? We are talking about a time when I was still in my mid twentys and the only guitar I owned was an Ovation Folklore. The realm of possibility exists here.

That was the other day today I have bigger problems I could be out 3 or 4k because my truck has a cracked cylinder head. Stepping back into the real world I could care less about Billy's statement or HAD's amps. I'm just hoping I don't have to unload the equipment I have to offset this.

Now I realize it was mostly answer the Dumble thread but I wanted to give you a chance to see what that place is all about so I hope you all stick around long enough to make it to one of the Roundups. Now before you get all yippey yi oh ki yah on me this happens in several spots thoughout the country. Between 30 to 50 people at any given event and a large bigger then life presence from Gretsch\FMIC. We've met Fred Gretsch III Joe Carducci who seems to make it to most of these events. My Ford F150 is on it's second engine, Ford replaced the original and the replacement engine sounds like a sewing machine due to self adjusting lifter rattle. Ford mechanic says I don't hear anything. People at the gas pump say to me you know your putting gasoline in your tank don't you? I respond to them that this is not a diesel
I don't care about the Gretsch forum post at all and should stay out of it but the fued back and forth comments on both forums spurred me on I guess.
I would rather play my Marshall type amps and Fender types then a Dumble because I am not into the tone a Dumble offers RF and LC tones.
The overdrive section of the Dumble is worth using in other designs though.

Where about are you in Minn. One of the guys used to throw a bash up in Little Falls called the Northwest Jam. The proceeds went to music programs for disadvantaged kids. He had some good results but it got to be too much for him to pull off every year.
I was running out there pretty regular while I was teaching then I had a student roll over my truck in October needless to say I stopped teaching and went back into my own truck. Yeah that wasn't too far from Jukebox who threw those get togethers. There's a large Minn. gang on both Gretsch forums. A lot of good guys up there.
