235uF filter capacitor... too much?

I just got a good deal on some 470uF 450wv snap-in capacitors which I would like to hook in series to yield 235uF 900wv. They will be going into a Ampeg V2 head which has 595V on the plates of the output tubes, thus the necessary series connection. It currently has ~37uF before the plates and 20uf on the screens.

It is has a solid state rectifier so I don't have to worry about too much filter capacitance, right? Will the added in-rush current be harmful to the power transformer and/or diodes?

Is this too much capacitance?

In a word... yes. The amp will sound/feel completley different.

will sound different. will prob sound better though. but this is my personal pref. than anything.
