Does anyone know what is the area of the iron core for some most favorite transformers, such as, for example, Fender Bassman version with approx. 50W output capacity and 4 and 8 Ohm secondary, with, say, the most often used 4k Ohm primary windings and such (yes, I know that power matters the most, but anyway ...).
In general, what is the ballpark core area for most Marshall, Fender and such 50 W output transformers? How wide are E-core center legs and what is dimensions of the stack?
I need some starting point in OT calculations, and here about 10 sq. cm is the start, right now, but a precise core area of the most used Bassman 50W version would be very appreciated -- to be used for a Dumble 2x 6L6 or 2x EL34 OT calculations/considerations, really. Thanks.

in the tweed bassman, bassman, super reverb, twreck express, etc (all these use the same size lams and stack thickness of 1 1/4") the core is 1 1/4" wide---that is the middle leg of the "E" lam. the lamination dimension is 3 1/8" x 3 3/4". a twin reverb uses the same size lams as well, and so does the marshall 50watters and vox ac30---these all have a 1 1/2" stack thickness (at least i think the twin has a 1 1/2" stack----the others i have in my possesion at present, so i know about them for sure ) rh
