OT Help.....

Post by stompjunkie »

I hope someone can help..... I'm pretty sure that the OT is blown in my buddies Orange Rockerverb... it's a 50w amp running 4 6v6. Can anyone explain how to test the OT to make sure that it is dead?....also, if it is indeed a goner, could anyone tell me where I could get a replacement, or recommend something that would work. I've checked all of my usual suppliers, and a few others, and all I can find are pieces made for the good ol Oranges, and nothing for the newer pieces.... Many thanks in advance....

Check www.geofex.com.

There is a trouble shooting section which has a subsection on OT problems.

Good luck!

there are litterally tons of replacements that would work fine and sound great in the amp. any vox ac30 type output would work as would a 50w marshall style (same size and stack thickness). also moose's express trannie would work fine (using the 5k pri taps) and also any of the fender clones that are the size of the bassman or super (same size lams and stack as the express trannie)----usually these are 4k and have multiple sec taps like 2/4/8 . tons of stuff out there for this and probably quite a few better quality than the stock trannie. rh
