A TAG meet would be killer. A good chance to meet old friends, make new ones, and of course hear our amps. Since TAG/Trainwreck Discussion amps probably make up the vast majority of Trainwreck style amps in existence, it would be very interesting (to me anyway) to do a statistical analysis of each member's amplifier for categorical data. Such as whether a member used carbon comp, metal film, or carbon film resistors, signal path dielectric choice, power supply capacitor choice, transformer choice, solid core vs. stranded wire, etc. A blind amp shootout would let the TAG crew decide which amps sounded the best (without seeing whose amp it was while it was being played) and at the end, the results of the statistical "profile" would be revealed and compared to the amps which rose to the top.
Of course, there would be ample quantities of fine ale and other tasty beverages.
The Tone issues in the JM builds is most likely, to put it simply, they are not being played properly. From what I'm hearing in the new clips (all of them) they all sound forced, played like you would a marshall or any fender with a big muff on the front end.
Which makes sense, Up to this point that is the type of amp these guys have been used to playing, it's what they understand, it'll most likely take a few years maybe even decades before they fully understand how to get the most out of the amps.
The KF build clips especially glenn's clips all have something in common. The amp is playing with the player.. they interact as one.
I agree that amp is not being played proper in that video.
I found out with my Express that I cannot play as good through my amp as others have. One guy with his semi hollow body tele sounded fantastic with such control.
It is a learning curve controlling the amp. We have read many times oh I tried a TW but it was not for me!
I have to agree with most on the recordings of the new production TW's. The factors before the amp is a big part of how the amp sounds. In Glenn's recording the major difference is his playing, guitars and recording along with his original TW amp. Glenn is really connected and locked into his gear and playing that it is a two way street that compliments each other between his playing and his Trainwreck amp. I bet if some of us played into Glenn's amp with our own guitar, playing style and were not tuned into the amp it would not sound as magical.
So with that in mind Glenn we need you when you have time to play and record all of our TW's
With Glenn all the tone electrons are aligned. Why cant we admit our guitar playing and guitars suck sometimes when we make some of our Tw clips Lol.
On my Tw clips you dont think that is me playing do you ? Not a chance

Congratulations on your retirement! Health is most important so I applaud you for your decision. Best of luck!!!
As for going back to regular programming... This is a comment not on the tone but the visuals of the new amps.
Am I the only one not digging the new cabs and the lettering? To me the new cabs look like an Ikea bought piece of furniture item. As un-exiting as that. No offense Ikea. We all love you but your place is not our beloved amps... Especially when they cost $7.5K!!!
And then whats with the horrid Gothic lettering? What is the connection to the TW psyhe? None that I can tell... Was it too much trouble for JM to arrange wood burning? I recall a kind TAG member recently had glorious ones made for a very reasonable sum... I really would expect to see better than some silly LetraSet lettering on a $7.5K amp... Boy did I say $7.5K two times???

No, you're not alone in that opinion and I mean that objectively; both for the aesthetic qualities and for the price.

Oh well. Rant over.
Thank you.
I have a feeling KF's sister in law is no longer interested in Pyrograph. As well as the laser engraving is cheaper and less wait time if ordered in batches, However with a 2 year waiting list I'd assume they would have time to make an interesting faceplate. It only took us a few hours from 10 foot plank of wood to final product. The english font could be for one of several reasons. 1.) it was the best of the limited fonts offered at the engraver. 2.) TW is trying to reflect back to the british (VOX) link.
I have a feeling the reason the cabinet is so ... just yeah... They have picked rather dark woods with mitered corners, which is the easiest and cheapest way to build the cabinet. I can't confirm B. Keller, the original cabinet builder, is making the current production cabinets. If he is I agree it's not his finer work. I think we have gotten so used to the pride Ken took in his work, even though his soldering was a bit sloppy at times , his pride sure shined! I agree the new amps have a mass production feel.
This could have also be a choice to give a very distinct line between TW and JM authorized TW clones out of respect for those who own an original TW and to keep the market safer from new JM owners trying to pass of an amp as a KF build for $$$$.
