Thanks man, yes it was through half of his cab, he said that he was going to use the amp for recording and he would probably use a 1X12 cab with an EVM12L.Very cool man, congratulations. You can really hear that musical voice in the amp. So pure!
That was demo'd through two EVM12Ls right? (one half of his split 4x12 cab)

Thanks for clarifying! Since you were standing right there, how did you find the high end with the EVs mated with your Wreck variant? Also, what impedance were you running?RockNRollDr wrote: Thanks man, yes it was through half of his cab, he said that he was going to use the amp for recording and he would probably use a 1X12 cab with an EVM12L.
I tried my Liverpool with a pair of EVs in a closed back 2x12 last night and the highs about ripped my head clean off. I have been running my 'Pool with a pair of well seasoned Greenbacks and the high end is really rolled off. So I was quite surprised at just how much high end was there when playing through the EVs. The EVs had a nice smooth low end but I just couldn't take the high end for single note runs on higher notes. I'm guessing that a) my speakers might be no where near broken in and/or b) since they are flat response they are reproducing what they are given well into an extended range. My Greenbacks really seem to roll this high end off.
Joe sounds like Joe and he always plays through EVs but it was very interesting to hear an Express through those speakers. From the video it sounded very good but I could not evaluate the apparent high end. I must say I was a bit disappointed that the EVs did not sound at all good with my Liverpool. They sound great to me with a Marshall type amp. The Wreck sound is just stunning with Greenbacks and I am convinced that they are definitely part of the equation to getting the 3D and organic qualities out of the amp. High end aside, I feel something was lost with the EVs an it sounded more like a poorly EQ'd recording of the amp.
Thanks,
Dave

Looks like clear plexiglass baffles in front of the speaker cabs, that will tame the top end. I do the same thing with my Express. It doesn't overly muffle anything either, which is the case using a baffle in front of most amps.
Express or Liverpool here?
