Its funny I needed this picture to figure out the fet. Haha thanks to you and Martin I might have this amp at 100% soon.
Now that i dropped v1 ~10v below v2 I hope I'm good with the voltages. We'll see once the fet is biased right. The amp is sounding great.
Bright switch is a little much for me I am going to lower that cap. I will rewire some of the areas to get out burnt pots
Taylor, it's the bumps the road that creates the true experience and enriches the build experience. If you would have fired it up and it was perfect you wouldn't have learned nearly as much.
I find that anything more than 220pf is too bright for me. My fav value is around 120pf or so.

Your source resistor is a little too big... try going down to the 1k8-2k range. You can clip a pot (100k, maybe) across your 2k2 and dial it to get the 2:1 voltage ratio across the 10k resistor. Then, measure the pot and calculate the parallel value. That might get it in line.

That is awesome!! I was hoping that this thread would help other members with the 102, even though a lot of people have used the 102 values, there aren't a lot of detailed build threads.
I still gotta bias my FET... I have been too busy playing through the amp, it still sounds unreal. I'm working on some NOS power tubes, 6L6's are $$$!

This is what I did.
I soldered some wires on trimmers and then connected them where the source resistor and R5 go and adjusted them back and forth until I got the right numbers.
Approx 10v at the drain and 20v at the junction of R4 & R6.
Pine tele with bridge pickup, through 1 EV12 into SM57, then mixer into the computer. Backing track was running through my headphones...i was able to mix the guitar right in and have it all record at once!!
The OD is very musical with great separation on the notes. I have plans to roll my OD entrance back a little, I don't use a lot of gain. This is with the gain set at about 5 or 6, mid boost on, rock engaged.
My volume isn't very balanced from clean to overdrive, and I think that may have something to do with the OD trimmer. There is so much info on the PI trimmer, but not much on the OD.
I think the vintage transformers really add to the sound.
