Help with Stereo switching TRS for Stereo 4x12...Please :)

Post by The_Fiddler »

Hi Guys, bought this socket, but can't find reference to what number means what, so don't want to wire up before knowing of course.

Any help would be appreciated!

Contact the supplier. They should support what they sell.

With those jacks I use a new male plug insert into the jack. First note the ring terminal and feed terminals. You can then figure out the other terminals as you go using continuity testing with DMM.

Looks like a clone of a Kobiconn 184-E

You guys that are newer to the Amp Garage should put your locations in your profile so it shows up under your avatar.

This way we can recommend products that may be locally available to you.

It is rather frustrating to help somebody for a half dozen posts only to find out that they live in Australia.

If we know where you are, members that reside where you do can offer advice and parts sources.

Thanks!
Tom

Out of context, I thought this was the funiest thing I read yet today.

Australia needs to get a grip. Upsidedowners. haha

I actually DO live in Australia, don't worry, I'll take any advice you give and turn it upside down so it works here :p

Thanks for the replies, I ended up pulling the stupid thing apart and working out all the pins. I've used it as a mono plug for now, as the stereo switching was really just a flexibility thing, but I thought I'd give it a go :)

@Tonemerc - Spot on! Thanks for the spec sheet!

Oregun, is that between Idaho and North Dakota?

No I agree. When someone asks about transformer choices, its hard to give them advice when shipping might cost more than the part.

BTW, my wife is an Oregon girl. She grew in Gearhart/Seaside. We lived in Portland until the dot com bust.

That's what I mean.
How many times have we seen threads where someone is asking about parts so we all recommend different parts and sources then about the sixth post they say, thanks but I live in Denmark....

I'm not trying to be a dick here, it just helps everyone if you put your location in your profile so with a glance we can see where you live and can better help you.

Don't worry, you don't have to put your house number there.

Just the general country would be very appreciated.

Yes, as long as you aren't an Aussie, or a Canadian.

I was trying to keep this civil, but you had to go there... err.. be there.

I was looking at the thread about buying amps to clone. I was thinking about how you probably sell amps you want to clone, being a good guesser, ya know.

haha

:) I have never bought an amp to clone and in fact my Dr Z Stangray I never cloned and my Red Plate Blackverb I haven't even looked under the hood because Henry gave me the schematic :D

I have borrowed from Trainwreck, Marshall, Fender, Vox, Dr Z, and Matchless. I stole from TAG and Hoffman website members
