Latest Project ( CONN with AUDIO CLIP! )

Post by gary sanders »

Ive started numerous threads with all kinds of crazy questions about this so heres what all the fuss is about. The Organ Donor.(Was once a Conn organ, now a stereo 2x12 amp) I got into a discussion about the Gibson EH 150 and wanted to finish this first,so I just used the 6SQ7 as a preamp for this.Needs a bit more of a preamp but I have some more tubes coming. Then finish touchups. Its not perfect but it sounds really good!

It does need some Murphy Oil soap,I just brought it in and snapped the pic

Will put up some clips when I get the preamp done. One triode just doesnt push it enough, especially with the tone control pulling it down.I learned a lot building this.Trial and error is the best educator,as long as it doesnt involve the B+!

Great job Gary. Enjoy that octal sound! You need a velvet smoking jacket and some slippers to go with your velvety smooth jazz tones 8)

No mistaking those alnico's. Had a couple of 12's from a Baldwin that were sweet. They won't take a lot of wattage though so keep it turned down.
