Trainwrecks on CMA awards show

Post by dorrisant »

Did anyone else catch the show? Brad Paisley was playing two of them... One sitting on a 2x12 Dr Z cab and the other was sitting on a 4x12 Dr Z cab... I think.

I'm wondering which Wrecks he was using... Anyone else know? I knew he had at least one... Didn't know he had two. I thought he might have lost one in the flood.

Not that it matters which ones he was using... Just good to see Ken's work out there and still going strong.

Here's a pic with one of them in it... Just googled it... don't know if ths was from tonight, but when Brad and Carrie Underwood performed "Remind Me", he was playing with two of them!

Channel flipping yesterday I saw that stage setup on a clip on Good Morning America plugging the CMA. Brad had a new production Z-Wreck (head cab and matching cabinet) and what looked like Hattie Mae, his original Liverpool. I believe I read a while back that his Liverpool was at his house, out of harm's way during the flood.

The Second Trainwreck

Post by Jessie 160 »

The second Trainwreck Brad was playing was a Rocket Kenny built in 1992 for Henry J. Kaiser the 3rd and named after my wife, Marcy. It had spent some time in Jerry Garcia's studio also before ultimately winding up at Ultrasound. After borrowing it a few times, Brad recently purchased the amp. Kenny would be thrilled to know that his amps were making music for so many people to enjoy.

The amps lost (damaged?) in the flood were Z-wrecks.

I heard recently that Brad had finally picked up an original Rocket. Seems the pic above was a different performance, as on the CMAs last night he had a 4x12 next to the 2x12, plus Carrie was in a dress... Here are both amps, front and center. Sure wish Ken could have seen this!

Looks like the only one that is on is the rocket on top of the 2x12. His pool is the one on top of the 4x12 and is not on.

Thanks for that post Glenn...

That is what I was typing about... I did the original post right after that scene during the following commercial. I didn't figure I could find the actual picture of what I had just seen. I posted what I could find... Similar.

So Brad is kicking it with a Rocket... I even feel a little pride for Ken... Almost brings a tear to my eyes!

Brad has 3 wrecks right now, one of each model and JM will be building the 4th.
That Rocket sounds very ,very nice in the room, all of them are great.

It does sound good, and not trying to troll, but I don't think it really 'sounds good in the room', I mean it's 25 watts mic'd up, through a mixing console, and bajillion-watt sound system in a gigantic hall, not to mention the recording is probably a mix from the stage mics only.

Brad 's JM amp?

Post by 2tone »

I was talking w/ JM today and he said he wasn't aware that Brad ordered an amp. Maybe another builder?
