I don't think Laurens Hammond and Don Leslie were really enemies. Leslie was not a real threat to Hammond any more than the local PC builder is a threat to Dell. Leslie's business was tiny compared to Hammond.

I also think that the rumor about the changing output jack was started by someone at Leslie, I doubt if Hammond even cared, until the early 70s Hammond never had a Leslie connection, it was always aftermarket.

Since both guys are gone, we'll never know for sure.

Thanks for your thoughts Bob.
I was kind of reading between the lines there.

I had read that Laurens didn't like any add ons to his organs that weren't made by his company.
One thing is for sure, he made his organs like tanks.
Probably never thought that touring musicians would be carting them around.

Either way, when the two devices are joined together it is a heavenly match up.
