Small Special
Saw some pics on a Dumble pic site (one of the ones linked on the wikipedia dumble page) and it sparked my curiosity. Is it just a 100 watt ODS minus an OD section?
Re: Small Special
Could you provide a link so we know which picture you are talking about?

Re: Small Special
are you talking about the "Overdrive Delux?" I actually know the guy who owns that amp, it does have OD, but it sounds like garbage, it's more of a collector's piece than anything

There's one about half way down the page and another 2/3 of the way down with a low res inside shot. Looks like 2 12ax7s and 4 octal power tubes.

Re: Small Special
The small 100 amp is the amp some people refering as the "ODS 60s" (someones early mistake naming it ODS 60s in a schematic)

Re: Small Special
That amp was called the "Explosion" or something like that. Never heard one myself.

Re: Small Special
Funk,
the Explosion was the earliest proto versions of the ODS,
had nothing to with the Small special amp really
small special was a clean only version of the early ODs basicly, these were made as a small club bass amp also,
someone posted a couple of handwritten schematics around 1999-2000
and one was named ODS 60s clean , but was actually the small 100 amp that had no overdrive,
at the same time the first late 70s schems were posted, the schem that started the Dumble cloning circus basicly,
before that schem was posted people still seriously believed that there were a Tube screamer circuit in the Goo, For real !! even a couple of the todays established Dumble cloners (that also started out their Dumble clone amp business back then) was involved and discussed this matter on various forums,
I am also fortunate to have talked with HAD himself and also some of his closest friends , Dumble was very nice to me and I learned a lot about good tone from him.
