Question about old can style cap

Question about old can style cap

Hi All.
Quick question I should know the answer to but don't.....
If you have a can style cap and it's labeled A (50 mfd) and B (50 mfd) with a negative leg as well.
Do you have to use A first???? or doesn't it matter........
