I was there on stage left where Ford was. The gig was at Perth's Metro City in Northbridge.

The Dumble's not Ford's black one. My suspicion arose when I saw the clone dumbleator.

I double checked if the Dumble had the green tipped switches and if the power indicator was green too - it was not.

The clone sounded bad when the chap (who won the PRS) played thru it. Even Ford's rig (rental i suppose) sounded better.

If Ford brought his Dumble along, he would have brought the rest of the rig - speakers, fx rack, etc. But they were nowhere in sight. So the Dumble up there on the stage was a copy.

They played Politician.

That explains why when I asked him at the CD signing why he didn't play through the Dumble and he just said "Maybe Next Time".

OK that's funny ... he's just being polite eh ... ???

He did signal to some of the guys not to take pictures ... but man he played great ... and just great tone from those Fender amps ...

But I do suppose if the Dumble clone sounded great, he would have had a go at it ... just like the Bludotones ...

Best $65 bucks I ever spent.

I think he was a bit pissed for 2 reasons,

There was a guy near me using a flash on his camera (after they asked no one to use flash photography = DICKHEAD)

And when he walked off stage after the encore he knocked Jimmy Haslip's Bass over and it hit he deck really hard and I would say it did some major damage.

I would say their amps were supplied by Billy Hyde's and the kit would of been from Chris Brady as Gary Novak is a Brady Endorsed player

$35 i got for ... promotion code from Kosmic - 2 for the price of 1 ticket offer !!! AND I GOT TO SEE LANDAU AND FORD !!!!

Yeah, not sure if Haslip bass was going to be badly damaged ... but friends went to watch because of Haslip's weird left handed string setup.

Gotta let me check out your Dumble clone dude !!!

Sure I will organise it one day, my amp has been at work for the past 6 months. Took it to work one day and I'm too lazy to bring it home, besides I can only crank it at work.
Mine is a Ceriatone 50w HRM with Magnetic Components Trannies.
Howie Morgan has a 50w OTS, his sounds much better than mine, maybe because he is a much better guitarist than me.

$35 BUCKS! absolute bargain to see those guys

I rather like the tones from a 2 x 12 DeVille....
groovetubin' on this board does mods to them that improve the drive channel greatly.

Naibr, anyway, I noticed that the Twin Reverb that Ford used, would glow as he played it - it seemed to be modded with some footswitching.

Anyone noticed it ?

Good show last night at the Aladdin! Would have liked to have heard him play more. Real tasty drummer he's got there.

I wasn't feeling so hot last week, had some kind of flu bug but my wife and I made it to the show a little before Robben came on.

Being this was his last gig of this tour, he seemed very tired.
It was a pretty full house and the audience was encouraging but Robben appeared worn out.

He had his '60 Tele and his gold top LP with the minibuckers.

I had been told that he played real loud but at this show I didn't think he was loud at all.
His clean tone was pretty loud and clear.

In fact the opening act, The Campbell Brothers were much louder.
He had his tan/ green light Dumble and vertical 212.

I thought I heard some crackling from Robben's amp early on and by the end it was obvious the amp was having some problems.
He even peered at the back of the amp at one point and he futzed with his pedal board some as well.
It may have just been a bad connection somewhere.

When he soloed it appeared that he stepped on the OD/ PAB because it got a bit louder with more gain.
The solos were kept short and he didn't jam that much on the songs.
Another sign that he was tired.
At one point he let the drummer and bass play and he put his guitar down and watched from the side.

We left after the first encore to avoid the crush. (not sure if he did a second)

Overall I was glad we went but I wish Robben had been more rested and fresh and played more from the heart.

It wasn't his amp causing the static, it seemed to be something in his pedalboard or the loop. I spent some time after the show talking to Rick (his road manager, and a colleague of my "date" for the night), and went onstage to take a look and try to help out. Pretty sure it was either the Line 6 delay he was using or some interconnect issue on his board. But the amp sounded great by itself.

He was adjusting his TC reverb pedal pretty regularly during the show.

Man, that Tele is nice! Liked the LP, too, but man...that Tele was distractingly nice.

Yeah, I was wondering if it was the pedal board.
I heard it crackling early on but the towards the end it got bad.

Do you know if he was using a Dumbleator?

Which TC reverb pedal is he using?

Did you sense that Robben was tired?

He probably just wanted to get it done so he could go home.
Can't blame him.

I was glad I got to see him though.

I didn't get to spend as much time poking around as I wanted, because as soon as Rick took me on stage, the floodgate kind of opened and a dozen or so people stepped forward and started asking questions. I felt kinda bad for having "opened the door" before the theater was empty. Nobody feels like answering the same old questions night after night.

Anyway, I didn't see a D-lator, but I didn't spend much time behind the amp. He was using a TC "Hall of Fame" reverb. The Line 6 unit there was a bit of a surprise to me. Yeah, he seemed pretty tired, but still a really nice guy. Very genuine.

He also had a Twin onstage and a Zendrive on the board, as though he didn't quite trust the reliability of the Dumble.

I kept thinking what it must be like to tour with an amp worth tens of thousands of dollars. I have another friend who's a national act and tours with an acoustic guitar that is literally the best I've ever played, and costs about $15k to replace. He tried touring with others, but that's the guitar that makes him creative, so...I guess you bear with the stress for your art. But I was surprised to see the Dumble up there. (BTW - they were giving props to Bludotone tone, Brandon!)

That's cool you got to talk to Robben.

I tried to take a couple pictures of the Dumble and pedal board while they were setting up the stage with my cell phone but they didn't turn out any good.

I still wasn't feeling very good so we bailed after the first encore.
I wasn't sure if he would do more than one and we wanted to avoid the crush to leave.

I would like to see him again sometime when he is more rested.

Yes I was glad when I saw the Dumble on stage.
I told my wife what one of those goes for these days and of course her being a practical person said, "Why can't you sell your amp for that much?"

I had to chuckle at that one.
I told her first of all, it's not for sale and explained why the real deal Dumbles go for so much.

Hey guys
Went to this show at beginning of the tour and was able to take the pics in the following thread.
https://tubeamparchive.com/viewtopic.php?t=14293
He did not have a dumbleator.
I think but am not sure that he only used the PAB on the Dumble but used the Zendrive for OD.
If he did use the OD on the amp I would think the Reverb and delay would have sounded aweful with them in front of the amp.
Any thoughts on the blank aluminum input/output box at top right of pedal board?
It was the only time I have ever seen RF live, but they sounded fantastic that night.
