Silvertone Schematic
I have an old EL84 Silvertone stereo amp in for restoration and came across something unique I wanted to run by some here. The amp has global negative feedback taken off the 8 ohm tap , run through a2.7k / .1uf back to the cathode of the input triode. Is this common on stereo amps of the 50's and 60's ? I've never run into it before.

I think it is fairly common for all push pull tube amps to have some form of negative feedback.

Re: Silvertone Schematic
Is it normally applied to the cathode and not the grid ?

Re: Silvertone Schematic
Curious,what model is your Silvertone?
Re: Silvertone Schematic
It's normally applied to the cathode as shown. See Fender Princeton and Princeton Reverb for comparison...
Re: Silvertone Schematic
Have no idea the model number. I got lucky over at DIYAUDIO and found a schematic. I'd not spent a lot of time doing stereo circuits. Thanks for the info
