Technical Book Choice

Post by resophonic1 »

I recently worked my way through the NEETS modules. Thanks to whomever posted that link. I just received TUT1 and I scored a cheap copy of the Radiotron 3rd edition book. After I finnish those books I would like to add some more to the collection. Most of the choices that are left are very technical but I would like to have them to further my studies. I'm probably only going to buy one more book before I start my first project. Which one of the following would you suggest if I already have the before mentioned books:

Morgan Jones Valve Amplifiers
Morgan Jones Building Valve Amplifiers
Audio Cyclopedia 2nd Edition
Radiotron 4th Edition

Or their may be a selection I'm missing, thanks for the advice.

Mullard 'Tube Circuits for Audio Amplifiers'
ISBN 1-882580-03-6

GEC Audio Tube Data
ISBN 1-882580-34-8

Morgan Jones 'Valve Amplifiers' is good

anything that written around designing guitar amps specifically is a waste of $$

That's true in many cases. but KOC's and Gar Gillies' books are very useful IME.

Absolutely TUT 1, but also TUT 2, 3 & 5.

I'm looking for the two transformer design books Randall Aiken recommends on his website, but his link to it doesn't seem to work any more, unfortunately. Randall, I know you're out there somewhere, can you fix it?

Pete Millett's site is awesome too!

All the London Power books
A Radiotron designers handbook (available on DVD)
The RCA Handbook

I have a major library of old books from my Dad, amazing stuff but like parchment, goes back to the early days
