I love Tremolo/Vibrato I am going to be building a small amp 6V6 or 6973's for about 20W in fixed bias. I would like to incorperate trem\vibrato into the amp.
The PI will be std LTP and the preamp is prob going to be a blonde bassman 6G6A
Any suggestions. I was originally looking at the Fender five triode design used on the 6G5A.
One more question. THe PT i am going to be using is designed for voltage doubling. The specifications are 115V primary and 136V secondary at 230mA and 6V at 4.5A. Factoring in today's wall voltage I should have just over 400VDC after doubling. If I were to tap the voltage at the 200V source could I run the screens or will it be too low?

Does anyone know how sensitive to voltage the Fender Harmonic vibrato is? I am concerned that my voltages might be a bit low on the amp, maybe 30 or so.

You saw the 5G9? It has amazing slamjon wrote:I love Tremolo/Vibrato I am going to be building a small amp 6V6 or 6973's for about 20W in fixed bias. I would like to incorperate trem\vibrato into the amp.

I owned a 1962 Fender Pro, and the trem was something to behold. I will say that the trem on those amps doesn't fit every style of music.
I like the simplicity of the VibroChamp trem.
It is a nice sounding, tube bias style trem. A nice feature is that it modulates the bias of a pre-amp section, not the power amp, so it is very adaptable to just about any amp design.

Re: Best Non Varistor Trem
I've tried an adaptation of this one: http://www.webphix.com/schematic%20heav ... rb_12b.pdf
I used it in a SE amplifier (P1 eX). Only uses one triode of a 12AX7. Works fine.
EDIT: I think I got my copy of the schematic from Mile's website, but I cannot find it there now - very confusing. I have a copy on my hard drive if you'd like - with the voltages.

You have to decide which effect you want, tremolo or vibrato.
Leo sort of confused the two when labeling amps.
Tremolo varies the amplitude or loudness of the signal and Vibrato varies the pitch or frequency.
Each can sound great and similar to each other.
