I'm reading the Federalist papers right now. I suggest anyone who wants to understand the reason for the constituition and why our gov't was set up the way it is (was) should read them also. Lord knows our education system won't teach it.

I know it looks rather hopeless, but maybe we should use our votes for proper change before it's completely too late and our votes are worthless. It all can't be changed in one election, but if we stay steadfast and not become lulled asleep over the course of a couple elections we may just have a chance.

Also, the free market is not perfect, but it applies a sort of Darwinism that works in the end. Goverment is not God.

I went to an annex to get some lab work yesterday and was asked the following questions by the receptionist.

Girl: Are you Black, Hispanic, or other?
Me: No.
Girl: If you are not, what do consider yourself?
Me: after laughing in disbelief, I said Caucassian.
Girl: What language do you prefer we speak for your appointment?
Me: What the hell....ENGLISH!!
Girl: We want everyone to feel they're being treated fairly.

It's getting really crazy.

P.S. Something else to think about. The Gibson Company's CEO is not a fan of the present administration and they're not union.

Political correctness is way out of bounds these days.
Our countries greatness came from assimilation. You can keep your cultural heritage and still be an American. That's what this country used to be about.
Music wise,back in the middle part of the last century radio stations played all kinds of music, Motown, Rock and Roll, Rock a billy, etc... That's how rock came about through assimilation of various forms of music Black and White.
Now we're at a point where every different racial group is separating itself.
We need leadership to bring us together [not divide America more,(which seems to be happening currently)].

Let's not forget that Gibson has been on the other side of the conference room table on these things... suing Ibanez/Hoshino, Fernandes, and Paul Reed Smith for making guitars in the shape of a Les Paul. I'll give you that some of the early Ibanez guitars looked damn near like the Les Paul less the logo... but PRS? Really?

I'm not saying that the US Gov. is in the right here. It's clear that they're the 800lb gorilla in this situation, but maybe... just maybe... you reap what you sow.

We won't actually arrest anyone at Gibson for the purchase of illegal wood (in whatever form) even though we confiscated a million bucks worth..Again... Hell we won't even close em down..Let's do this, hold off filing charges for now, keep quiet and site the Lacey Act..This way we can go after their customers and make more money in fines and help our boys out on the hill!!

So will the guitars produced before the Raid and the seizure of all this wood start selling for more money or will they drop in resale market.

I just bought a 2010 Gibson Les Paul Standard Gold Top so hopefully it won't end up screwing all of us musicians in the future that just bought guitars.

I can't believe the CEO would actually even consider moving the famous Tennessee factory out of the country as seen in this clip.

Before the Obama-phobes start getting too silly, just know that Henry (current owner of Gibson) is famously one of the biggest dirt-bags in the MI industry. Everyone I know that has come into contact with him (and or worked with/for him) hasn't been the least bit surprised by his recent run-ins with the Law.
Ideally, the noble Gibson name/company can be purchased by someone with real integrity once he is shown for who he is.

*The President of the U.S did NOT raid Gibson illegally while carrying a machine gun (though I'm sure Fox News will have a photo of him doing exactly that).

Everyone I know that has come into contact with him (and or worked with/for him) hasn't been the least bit surprised by his recent run-ins with the Law.
Ideally, the noble Gibson name/company can be purchased by someone with real integrity once he is shown for who he is.

The problems with the government operating completely over the intended (and rational) boundaries of the framers intent or subsequent constitutional limits started long before our current President got elected. To blame him in this would be like blaming somebody today for the devastation of all the Bison heards in the US that happened in the 1800's..... The last 20 years has just seen exponential growth and greater perversion of the system, which will continue as long as the people allow it. The "hippie" generation was anti-establishment, and now they seem to be the ones gettting in office (becoming the establishment.... ironic to me at least) and trying to push that establishment to be far more controlling than ever before. Hopefully the "yuppie" generation can fix what's left after the "hippie" generation is out of power.

You notice no political parties are noted. That's because ignorance and arrogance seem to be universal traits to the political system here in our fine country. If it wasn't, you wouldn't have the government operating with such impunity and in total disregard of our rights.

Politicians are truly like diapers... They need to be changed OFTEN because they really stink up the place (before too long). So is the Gibson raid due to our politicians or the bureaucracy that has grown so big?

I'd say both.

My vote hasn't been cast in support of a Presidential candidate in 20+ years. I've always voted AGAINST a candidate more than for one. NOT ONE PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE has inspired me since I was in high school and couldn't yet vote. Sad, huh?

This infuriates me that the government would send armed agents into a plant of hard working skilled Americans over WOOD!!!!!
