Mark,

I had Anthony at stagecraftgear.com build me a cab for the CE chassis a while back. He builds the Gabkits cabs. He built the same cab only re-sized for the CE chassis for a $15.00 upcharge over the Ceriatone cab...

That is why I liked the CE chassis.
They have counter sunk screw holes on the side so the screw heads are flush with the sides.

I put my new ODS into a Ceriatone head cab and there is just under 1/4" gap on both ends.

Since my chassis is black, it doesn't show up to bad against the black cab.

Don't let that smoke out!

Deric I wonder if Anthony kept your cab data on file, not a problem I can tell him what I need.

CE chassis are 19 inches and rj's are 19.25.

That is badass Mark!

How are you liking the mica coupling cap on V1? Any scratching on the Volume pot?

Dave,

Thanks buddy I see your back from Arizona how was the trip?

No scratchiness on the pot at all. Very good circuit works well with a bunch of different speaker choice.

Mark,

Do you have any glue underneath the power tube cathode bypass capacitor? It makes me uncomfortable seeing that cap seemingly floating out there.

I'm guessing that you don't feel a need for a midrange control? Have you tweaked the mids value for any particular guitar(s)?

Cheers!

Zippy that would be a good idea to glue that cap down, I'll put a dab under the cap, thanks!

I just use the standard 10k like the TW does, and with the DPDT bright switch I can have 100pf none 500pf plus the interaction of the bright pot/bass pot as well as the cut control there is so many ways of adjusting to each type of guitar.

Last night I ran a Tele, Strat and LP through this amp and I like the Tele the best but I was able to adjust for each guitar and playing style.

all 12AX7 preamp tubes.

Hey Mark

Where do/did you get the 4 clips you used for chassis mounting?
I was considering just tapping the threads on my express but that looks more convenient.

Thanks

Thanks, Mark. At the expense of being redundant... Nice build!

Thanks Zippy appreciate you looking the amp over, eagle eye

Todd I have a great Ace Hardware store and dig through there special isle all the time. Most of the time I can't use these 1/4 inch clips and use 1/4" or #10 bolt-on/pop-rivet threaded mounts like the Dumble amps use.

If you can find the square nut inserts like Allynmey uses on his TW chassis you could drill a hole and file it square to fit. rjguitar uses pem nuts.

Todd (and Mark),

I used those square clip-on/slip-over nuts (that you used Mark) on my last build and they were a real life saver. They worked really well. The build was a retrofit into an existing combo cab and I had a custom tubes-down chassis made to fit and had to use the existing holes on the combo. So those mounting clips worked perfectly for the application. I found them locally in the hardware drawers.

If there is enough room I like using those heavy duty clips, they are very solid feeling and thread nice.
