That stuff is just plain silly ....... audio snake-oil.
Reminds me of a salesman in a big box store that started arguing with me when I asked if they had any brands of interconnects more modest in price than Monster Cable.

Hmm...
The low noise, high-speed design of the AC-12 is based on 5 patents and years of listening and engineering. The PerfectWave series brings a new level of refined beauty, power and spacious performance to high-end, high-performance systems. It helps connected equipment enjoy a breathtaking openness, with quick transients combined with a warmth and richness that we have never before experienced.

A shakti stone?I have two AC-12’s plugged into a Soloist premier, but in order to accommodate the need for flexibility without straining any connections, the Soloist is not mounted to the wall. Rather it is sitting atop a shakti stone, sockets face up. That was my solution to the problem.

Shakti Electromagnetic Stabilizers wrote:SHAKTI Noise Reduction Technology (NRT) absorbs and dissipates Electromagnetic Interference (EMI). Automotive Computers (ECUs) and audio/video components self generate a radiated EMI field that degrades signal transfer functions. The word SHAKTI means "energy." Through an energy conversion, inductive coupling process, the "antenna-like" circuits within SHAKTI attract and then resistively convert EMI to non-interfering heat. This increases horsepower and speeds up 0 to 60 times in automotive engines and improves resolution in high definition audio/video systems. No electrical connection is required because all interactions take place through radiated field mutual coupling. One need only place SHAKTI units in near proximity to the CPU or audio component to obtain discernible performance improvements.

With the price of gold these days, that outlet might be worth more melted down.
Re: $800 ac cable
all basic electronic fact you need stones for better tones
Re: $800 ac cable
OMG!
I wish I had access to a bit of the money that these guys toss out the window!
Imagine the fun stuff I could build!
By the way, if anyone wants to buy some clone shakti stones off me, I have a number in stock... I have some deluxe models that aren't flat like those cheap ones... Every stone is a one-of-a-kind original...
...anybody? $20??

Um.... Okay.... So, what about the 12 or 14 gauge copper wire that goes from the outlet to the breaker box? And then the wire that goes from the house to the pole? And, the big question, what about the bird shit on the overhead wires? Is that going to muddy up my tone? Should I be out there cleaning off the power lines with a ladder, water hose and a mop?

OMG! I have a $799 cable for sale if they want. (Hand-made. Made it myself out of the latest materials. If it doesn't work I'll swap it with another one for free!) Save themselves a buck.

SHAKTI STONES! THEY CURED MY HEMORRHOIDS!
Not really.
I got into high-end audio back in the 90s. I remember Shakti stones. They were hilarious. I forget the theory behind them, but if you put them under your CD player or amp or something, they made the angels sing out of your $75,000 Wilson Audio speakers.
I love high-end audio. It's some of the funniest reading on earth.
I still recall Stereophile's showdown article, proving expensive cables were better. They put graphs up, sort of like oscilloscope traces, showing what a given signal looked like after a certain number of feet of various cables. They included an extension cord made by a company called Accutronics.
They gave the prize to some ridiculous cable or other, noting that the graphs proved it was way better than extension cords. The funny thing was, if you looked at the graphs for yourself, it was immediately obvious that the Accutronics graph was nearly identical to the one that won the prize. Even when their own research proved they were imagining things, they insisted on interpreting it to support their fantasies.
You can sell these people ANYTHING. Consider it a hedge against economic turmoil. If you ever get desperate enough to turn to fraud, start building amps and tell people the transformers are made from special steel mined in a dead volcano in Iceland. They'll hear a difference, and they'll give you their kids' college funds for it.
If you really want a giggle, note how audiophiles use the word "reference" to describe their junk. Anything tagged with the word "reference" sells for twice as much.

Re: $800 ac cable
By the way, I have six-foot-tall Magnepan speakers, which audiophiles love, and I use cables I made from HOME DEPOT power cord. I love telling audiophiles that. It's sadistic, I guess. Can't help it.

Why does my system sound better at night
Most audiophiles have noticed this phenomenon. There are many conjectures.
(1) The power line feed is more pure-there’s less machinery and fewer motors to corrupt the power lines. Remember, your sound comes from modulated AC power. This is a great argument in favor of adding regenerated power like that from a Power Plant as opposed to trying to simply filter the power. The problems we see on the AC line at night can only be fixed by building new power, not filtering the noise on the line.

Those of use who are nutty enough to worry about clean power, run our small tube amps off batteries.andyhardy wrote:Why does my system sound better at night

In fact, if you go back far enough, the B+ in our guitar amps comes from Battery +
