What temp is heat shrink rated to for operating conditions.

From the 3M data sheet:
Heat shock (4 hrs. @ 250° C)
No dripping, flowing, cracking,
passes mandrel wrap test

It's hard to lump this question into a solid single answer
every make and model is different but each brand and model has a data sheet usually available from the manufacture in a .pdf if you visit the website. If you can't find it online most will send it via email while you are on the phone with tech support or customer service. Often sales can send data sheets and even samples

Ange where in the wiring is the point you want to heat shrink?

In most cases wire nuts are used and I'm sure some of those are rated for higher heat.

Your house doesn't have aluminum wiring for the appliances does it?

Appliance parts dealers will have high-temp wire for e.g. under-cooktop wiring of resistance elements. There are also all-ceramic wirenuts (no metal or plastic) for connections in high-temperature environments such as for the glow ignitor in gas ovens.

Thanks guys. Used the ceramic nuts and its back in place. Heavy sucker, but my little dolly worked ok. Really seemed like highway robbery to ask $500
to fix it.
